Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural family. She was born within South London. She is English but her father is Nigerian. She attended The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While attending the school and performing in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success her role was Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi who was the leading character in ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also starred as the title character in How to lose friends & betray people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008. She also appeared in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, composed by David Watson.
Madekwe officially made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes on The CW, and was eventually ended. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe, who had been a series regular in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series with a guest appearance on the premier episode of the new season. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, is a member of a big family living in Hamilton, Ontario. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty and her other siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley's brothers, who were all very athletic, played hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning she basically grew up in baseball and arenas. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age just two years old, she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley developed a passion for dancing when she began the Baby Ballet. Ashley competed in ballet, tap and jazz in the high divisions. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
